Georgetown Loop Railroad

Just off I-70, 45 miles west of Denver — one of Colorado’s most authentic living museums and historically immersive experiences.

George Rowe Museum

Resides in a former schoolhouse built in 1894 after the silver bust.

Spectacular scenery, sunshine, and mountain air on the hiking trails above and around Silver Plume.

Argentine Trail

Follows the old rail bed of the Argentine Central line — a wide, well-defined trail with an easy grade.

Silver Plume Jail

Built in 1875 and used until 1915. One of its prisoners was Jack McDonald, a Scots-Irish miner.
